The Gundalow is Coming!

THE GUNDALOW IS COMING TO NEWMARKET for Heritage Festival weekend! Climb aboard the Captain Edward H. Adams, a reproduction of an 1880s gundalow, built in 1982. Try the sweeps, take the helm, use the old tools, explore below deck, and learn the lore of the great flat-bottomed gundalows that once sailed the waters of the Piscataqua Region. The captain will set the sail hourly on the half hour, weather permitting. (Sat. Sept. 25, 10-5; Sun. Sept. 26, 10-5) Sponsored by the Gundalow Company. While you’re down on the waterfront, check out all the other great festival activities: kayaking on the Lamprey with EMS, scenic boat rides, climbing wall, bungee bounce, classic cars, farm animals, juggling, fencing, and jump roping. Plus, learn about the oysters of Great Bay, the wild and scenic Lamprey River, and more! http://www.heritage-festival.org/index.php/program/activities/
