Artisans at Work

  • Opa’s Oompah Band

    OPA’S OOMPAH BAND: Achtung!! Opa’s Oompah Band, playing together for more than 20 years, specializes in German festival music, offering a varied mix of European folk music, waltzes, marches and polkas. (You may also occasionally hear a rousing rendition of Bill Bailey, Hello Dolly, or the Colonel Bogey March, as well as the lively Clarinet and Beer Barrel Polkas.)   • Veterans Dedication & Exhibit

    VETERANS DEDICATION & EXHIBIT: The Newmarket Veterans Memorial Trust Committee is sponsoring two special events at the Heritage Festival, both on Saturday, Sept. 25. Attend a short dedication ceremony for Cpl. White, a Newmarket native who died in Vietnam. (Sat. 10-10:30) Corner of Main St. and Bay Rd. And meet local veterans through words and photographs at the Veterans Exhibit. (Sat. 11-5) Main Street Bandstand.

  • Don’t Miss the Accordion Warrior!

    GARY SREDZIENSKI, THE ACCORDION WARRIOR (and former Newmarket resident), returns to the festival stage this year, along with his accordion collection and his vast repertoire of music that manages to span  time, continents, and styles. Don’t try to classify him–just make sure you get there to hear him play! A perennial favorite, Gary’s performances are packed with heart and soul, fabulous talent. and an endless supply of stories and trivia.
